Experienced. Compassionate. Honest. Dedicated to serving Cook County
I’m Mary Quinn, and I’ve been a lawyer in Cook County for 30 years. I spent 22 of those years as a prosecutor with the Cook County State’s Attorney office, and the other 8 in my current position as a criminal defense attorney. I graduated from DePaul University with a B.S in Finance and received my J.D. from the Chicago-Kent School of Law at IIT.
I have a great deal of litigation experience having tried over 70 jury trials and hundreds of bench trials and motions. I feel comfortable in a courtroom, and the experience that I have has made me confidant that I will be a fair and impartial judge. I am a hard worker and known for my fair temperament, and I hold my legal ethics to a high standard. I have been found qualified to be a judge by the Alliance Bar Association in 2006 and in 2010. My judicial philosophy includes listening to both sides, treating all parties equally and with respect, and enforcing deadlines for resolution of matters.
My extensive experience as both a defense attorney and a prosecutor allows me to have the perspective to ensure justice for both the accused and the victims of crimes. I also have leadership experience through my position as the Vice President of the South Suburban Bar Association (SSBA). As part of my commitment to this role and my dedication to serving my community, I regularly provide pro bono services through the SSBA along with teaching high school students trial advocacy for mock trial competitions.
